Another step towards living the book 1984.
Not sure why this is newsworthy.
People on probation or parole are lucky to be doing that than be in jail serving the time. The article makes it sound like she just can’t date another criminal so her p o has to be told who she dates. No surprise here.
P&P in WI, have long held this aspect within their authority. It is strange indeed when they claim right over who you f#$%. As if…..! I make it a big issue in my violation cases. Opt for trial!
Wisconsin has the same rule for sex offenders while you are on probation.
If they keep making new laws and convicting everyONE for everyTHING under the Sun, soon no ONE will be able to date ANYONE! *eyeroll* 😵
Oh, this is just the tip of the iceberg. Nearly all sex offenders required to participate in any form of sex offender treatment are barred from entering into any sort of relationship without the express permission of the treatment provider. At least that is how it was with everyone who was a client of G. N. Associates in Eureka, CA.
I should know. Because I spent 30 days in jail for dating a 25 year old woman when I was 24 after being told not to continue the relationship because I didn’t first get permission. Despite losing nearly everything in a fire recently, I still have a letter from my then fiance demanding the court allow us to continue our perfectly healthy and natural relationship. As much as she has not been in my life for many years now, I still believe to this day should would speak up for me and for others similarly situated. But I haven’t talked with her in many years, thanks to us parting ways after learning I would be on parole for two more years despite being sentenced to 3 years.
The system is inhumane and I still hurt from it. I was very depressed and thinking about her the other day. She was my one true love.
I’m baffled at this restriction as it has nothing to do with her crime. As long as the person is a legal adult and not a felon, then I don’t see what problem exists. This is one of those steps for rehabilitation and being part of society – a reason to stay on the right path.
And why is she in trouble if her partner is the one who lied about his past, a DWI. I mean DWI is bad, but he didn’t kill anyone (hopefully).
This restriction is too invasive. What else should they tell her? What positions are legal to use in the privacy of her bedroom?
